  • Another Broad Bean Question

I have two double rows of autumn sown Bunyards Exhibition with no setting pods - the flowers are just dropping. Next to them is a single double row of autumn sown Aquadulce with lots of pods.
Why?!! They are in the same bed and were sown at the same time. The only difference is that the Aquadulce is the most southerly row. All are between 18inches and 2 feet tall and have ba little black fly. Plenty of pollinators although the carpenter bees have been drilling in from the bottom as usual. Perhaps they are very selective on bean variety and have damaged the lot?
    Thanks lovelies

Sounds like they don't taste as nice to bees

Or maybe they sound too British, Aquadulce sound much more to a Hautes-Pyreneesian Bee's tastes

Amazing this grown lark isn't it. My wife sowed 2 trays of Nasturtiums same day, same size tray, same compost, one tray is 100% up, and in the greenhouse, the other is just starting to show. Some things we'll never understand
