I'll be doing a bit of re-roofing over the log store shortly & have ordered some of this. Any idea of the best way to apply it. I was going to use a roller but from what I've read, it's a bit thick..............a bit like me really.........

When I have used it I used a brush. Whatever you use it's no good afterwards.

Would that be a paint brush or sweeping brush............sorry for appearing daft, it's a natural trait of mine.

Paint brush, but mine wasn't the same make. Leave it in the sun to warm it up a bit and it will spread more easily.

3 or 4 inch brush, wear gloves, toxic to all aquatic life, try not to inhale, the fumes can affect some people.

Easiest way get it to a workable consistency without actually using thinners is to put the tin in a steel bucket & then half fill the bucket with boiling water (think of a ban-marie ), if you have a camping gas stove you can stand the bucket on that is even better remember to remove the lid of the paint can BEFORE putting it in the bucket.

Cheapest brush option would be a synthetic filled "creosote brush" similar to ... Shed Fence Creosote Exterior Paint Brush With POT Clip | eBay

                    Good luck, it's horrible stuff.
My hubby STILL finds little flecks of it on his gloves/boots/in the garage and the last time he used it was about 3 years ago because he wasn't as careful with it as he should have been

Wear throwaway everything. the stuff does dry but when it warms up it will stick to anything else and ruin it. several pairs of nitrile gloves worn at once allow the soiled top pair to be removed whilst still having hand protection.

Do it on a warm day having warmed the tin for an hour or so in hot water to thin the consistency.

Cheers PW, good tip about the gloves. I'm hoping to do it on a warm day so the tin can stay in the greenhouse while I do the timber work.

Noooooooooooooo BM, the greenhouse will fill with fumes, deffo not a good idea unless you have an active charcoal mask bud, even then I'm not sure what effect the fumes would have on any plants in it

The tin would be un-opened............or would that pose a problem?
