Is it possible to get 2.5M wide debris netting? Been looking all over but seems to go up in 1M stages.

Can't say I've ever seen it. I think you'll have to get 3m and cut it down or sew a 2m and 1m piece together.

It stretches so you may be able to stretch a 2m to 2.5m - no promises. I stretched the 3m width but would have to check by how much.............

CHECKED - 2 x3m widths stretched to cover a 24' long GH frame.

Aaaaaarrrrggghhhhh mixed units of measurement. It's making me physically tense. 24' = 7.3m for anyone else with my affliction.

            Sorry VC!

Let us know how you get on please. I'm thinking of doing the same.

Sorry Stan but I wouldn't dream of trying to convert the length of 3 x 8' GHs into metric. It would mean nothing to me - I'm still old school

Will do, let you know the dimensions after stretching.

Remember to buy enough length of netting to cover the ends of your tunnel. Debris netting from our store shed is 3m wide (plenty wide enough to go over the hoops on a 4' wide bed), but I only bought 5m to cover 16'.

Obvs. it does not help that my beds are in imperial and the netting is sold in metric, but it means that I bought enough to make a - uh - wind tunnel, rather than enough to make an enclosed tunnel.

Just in case it helps Mr Google can do unit conversion for you (and sums)

                      Anything from the simple:

                      2 x (3 + 4) =

                      to

                      24 Metres in Feet =

                      or even

speed of light in furlongs per fortnight =

                      or

                      100 x pi in bakers dozen =

All the usual mathematical operators, but it can help to put "=" on the end

According to VC's GH, 2 mts stretched gains you 43cms so it will be touch & go.......plus it will open the small holes more.

I'm old-school and convert everything back to Imperial.
I know from playing golf that a metre is 10% bigger than a yard. So 3 metres = 10 feet.

Anyway, my own beds are 4 feet 6 inches wide and 4 yards long, so pieces 6 yards long cut from the 10 feet wide roll cover those plastic pipes nicely.

I haven't tried stretching the stuff but like BM I'm skeptical it would go far enough. If it were me I'd use the 10 foot wide stuff and tidy up the excess at the sides.

Worked a treat. My hoops had a radius of 770mm approx. so that means my 2M wide netting stretched to 2.4M approx. Could have stretched it a wee bit further too.

And the cabbage whites aren't going to get through the holes now?
