  • Moving sweet peas to the greenhouse,

I planted some sweet pea seeds in modules about 2 weeks ago and put them on the windowsill. The majority have germinated and are a few inches tall . Will it be okay to move them to an unheated greenhouse now.

I know that peas are irresistible to mice. Are sweet peas also on their menu? If so any brilliant ideas for protection?

Definitely move them out into the greenhouse, they'll get too leggy on a warm windowsill.

I don't know whether mice like them, I'm afraid.

Mine where moved to the GH the minute I spotted a bit of green popping up above the compost, not sure how you've go about protecting them from mice apart from suspending the modules from the ceiling.
      Location....East Midlands.

I'll try and rig up some cradles for them. I'm a bit paranoid about them at the moment after finding evidence of them vandalising my fleece and bubblewrap to make nests.

Mine have been outside, sheltered under the hedge, for a couple of weeks now.

Thanks for the information guys. Hoping to get the greenhouse moved this weekend so these can go in there giving me more room!

I moved mine out of the greenhouse a week or so ago to toughen up. Today I planted them out with some protection against wind and pigeons. I'll give them a week or two to establish before I pick the best sideshoot to train up the canes.

I've put them in the pop up greenhouse for the first time tonight.

Mine germinated inside, moved to the greenhouse as soon as they said hello and they're now outside on some staging. They're hardy things .

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I've now moved mine from the GH to outside with a cloche on them overnight.

All my sweat-peas are now outside.

I needed the space in the greenhouse! It's now full of all my veg and annual bedding plants which are a little more sensitive. The only thing that is currently not in the greenhouse are the peppers, toms and chillis. They have another couple of weeks in the house before they get put out there.
