Can you have your camera to hand when you open it...it could be a triple Yorker, or an egg inside another egg ( still very edible! )..,, I'd love to see if it's something unusual!

My what a big one you have
Mine is the size of a goose egg.....oh, sorry it is a goose egg. The first lot of ducks I ever had in their first season they mainly laid double yolkers it was great. Do take pics if it is a weird and wonderful

Lol, I hadn't considered anything other than possibly a double yolker! She always lays big eggs, but this one's her biggest so far. She's a cross between a copper black maran and something unspecified. I got her as POL a couple of years ago, and she lays whoppers almost every day during a normal length laying season - if I ever decide to breed any more chicks, I think she should definitely contribute some of the eggs to hatch!sigpicGardening in France rocks!Comment

Yes, my Marian's always laid the biggest eggs. A friend decided she had enough of chickens last year. I came home to find 3 hybrid chickens in a pen - a blue thing, a Sussex cross and something else. I couldn't believe how small their eggs were! The Marian's average 80g per egg, these hybrids average egg is 55-60g tops.Comment

Most of my eggs are around 100grams, but they are meant to get bigger the older they get, when I first got our ladies a couple of years ago the were around 55-60g. Had one around 130g but never had a double yolker. Would love a soft boiled double yolkerI grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

Average 100g per egg?! What breed are those?
Double yolkers are usually from young hens or when the laying season starts up again in the Spring.Comment

eck !!!!! i thought we were doing well ,ours are about 75g on average with the odd bigger one thrown in occasionally "though not weighed the bigger ones " but no where near those sizesComment

I don't know, they are rescued but look like the normal orange coloured hen 😄
But they are breed to be egg layers not multi use, their eggs have got bigger as the time has gone by, they live a free life and get pretty much whatever they want.
Just yesterday as I was having a cuppa, Queenie (my queen of the flock) came through the the garage into the kitchen then to the living room and stayed with me for 20 mins before I took her back.
Thinking of adding a couple more to the flock now they are getting older and not getting as many eggs.I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

Very rare to get no eggs, usually 2 or 3, never had anything less than 90g, biggest one that was weighed was 120g ( I have had bigger but never weighed them).
They have plenty of room, an unbreakable routine, and want for nothing.
The most annoying thing is peeps would rather buy at the SM than donate money for the cluckies upkeep by purchasing eggs (though they grab them if they are free!?)Feed the soil, not the plants.

Crikey, that really is a huge egg! My hens are rescue hens too. I was amazed to collect these eggs in the same nest last year, little and large haha!

The only biggun I've ever weighed was 92g. One of ours consistently lays large double yolkers...nothing compared to your whoppers though!Comment
