  • Plot numbers? Show me yours!

Do you display your plot number all the time?
We only put them on for judging day. Using a shepherds hook and laminated number.

I was wondering what other plots use. Anyone care to show me?

I have no idea wether they still exist but we had stakes to make out the plots (I had mine from when they first started) and the front rh corner post was numbered. That was 3 years ago.

Ours are already there - they are round posts with a metal number on top. You can't really see them until you get up close as they are facing the sky!

It's only a tiny 18 plot site though, and all in a row from 1 to 18...so hard to get confused.

I've no idea what mine is and OH has 'tidied' the contract away so I can't find it. My rent is due shortly so I shall ask the new Clerk when I pay up, if she knows!

As far as I know we don't have plot numbers let alone ones to display

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

There's about 72 plots on our site and I found out our number the other week when the contract finally arrived ~ we are RR34 I cannot see any numbers on anybody else's plots but I'm thinking about putting the number on our gate later this summer once I give it a sand down and fresh coat of paint as it's all peeling and neglected.

We are plot number 34. Only a few have numbers because a lot of the plots don't line up like they should some have been broken up into A's and B's by various plot holders over the years.

Our plots are council run and managed by the same officer who looks after the cemetery, so our plot numbers are identical to the grave marker numbers. Most people have got rid of theirs, felt a bit spooked and uncomfortable maybe! My son made me a lovely acrylic marker in DT at school as a surprise.

My site's enormous (I don't even know how many, as lots are split into A and B, but the numbers go to about 300), so we're supposed to have numbers on display at all times.

So.. thanks for the reminder, mine fell off over winter, and we have a site inspection next week.

Annoyingly, I actually made a really nice sign in my pottery class for my A half plot, but I'd just finished it when I got offered part B too, and they automatically combined them back to one plot with one number, so my lovely sign is useless.
I could chisel the 'A' off, I suppose...

We found a little craft shop when on holiday and they had all these little shapes and letters so you could make your own signs... So yes, we made it but we cheated a little!
