  • Another newbie..... Looking for info

I'm looking at buying my first greenhouse. Nothing grand, just a 6 x 6.
Any hints / tips on suppliers from experienced buyers or users would be very welcome.

Buy the biggest you can afford. Think about what glazing material you are going to use. Horticultural glass is very thin so I went for toughened glass as I had small boys kicking footballs around. Now I have two cats who like skiing down the roof. Polycarbonate is also an option. Mines an Elite and I have been very please with it, although I'd love to have room for a bigger one. Don't forget to factor in the cost of staging.

Hello Oih & welcome to the jungle. You have asked a question to which you will wish you hadn't asked................I suppose the first consideration is your budget, as they can range from a freeby off freegle to maybe close to a thousand.

          Hello and welcome
Do you want glass or polycarb "glazing"?
If glass, do you need toughened glass or is normal horticultural glass OK?

Sorry about the questions but if you know what you want, it helps us to help you!

Hi and welcome to the vine.
I would recommend the second hand route as greenhouses don't hold their value and I suspect you will soon want a larger greenhouse.

Hello - glad you found us. I don't have a greenhouse just a very large porch that does just as well but I suppose your price limit, space, intention (what or how much you intend to use it) and whether you will want it heated or not. Have fun reading
