  • Anyone know the name of this plant please ?

Two photos. The first rather dark unfortunately; the second a close up of the leaves and flowers which have just appeared. The leaves are very brittle and break easily when removing dust. I have sprayed the leaves with water but it doesn't appear to have removed the dust. Any advice on removing dust from brittle leaves would be most appreciated. Thanks.

It certainly looks like Euphorbia Lophogona - so thanks for that. Sap is poisonous

Put it in the shower or outside and water it with a watering can?

The leaves are so brittle they snap even if you hold them very gently, but thanks for the suggestion. About being fussed... Indoor plants don't look great covered in dust but, more importantly, don't plants absorb beneficial elements through their leaves ?

I put my plants out in the rain to freshen them up.

I do the same if it's not too cold, it really perks them up too!

I shall do that. Sounds like the solution to dusting off brittle leaves. Perhaps it'll strengthen the leaves, too ?

Still not sure if indoor plants actually benefit from being dust-free, they're certainly more aesthetically pleasing. Could be that the rainwater, being softer, penetrates the soil better rather than the leaves absorbing anything beneficial.

I believe leaves "breathe". Dust on the leaves would inhibit this. Therefore, Leaves should be kept clean
I'm sure someone who knows what they're talking about will be along soon
