  • Check out my raised beds!!

Found these today at work in the loading bay. Managed to bag all four of them!
Not quite use what they there used for. Think they sit on top of a wooden pallet to stop stuff falling off.

They aren't quite as big as the raised beds I was going to make but for free who cares.
I'm going to stack one on top of each other and sanding the writing of the sides. Pretty good quality wood and hinges.

Let me know what you think!

Natalie, one of the gardening you-tubers Rickvanman redesigned his plot last year with pallet collars. You might be interested in how he spaced and lined them, I think it's in this video, or one of the other ones he uploaded around May of last year

Lucky you, they normally sell for around £5-£6.

I'll check on the sizes for you tomorrow.

Thanks for the video WPG I'll watch it after tea.

I'm a little worried about taking them know cost they cost between £5/£6 each. If anyone asks I'll just deny all knowledge of taking them.
There were dumped on top of a loads of old palletsso i can't see they were wanted.

if you can find out who dumped them manure you can ask them to put aside any more they get. Do it nonchalantly saying that you noticed some the other day and do they get them often so as not to let on you got the last lot.

Don't worry about it. They don't re-used or anything as far as I am aware, same as most pallets. There are one or two odd companies that try to reuse their branded pallets but I think the success rate of that is poor at best. You also get people who will pay for pallets in bulk but I wouldn't have thought you got anything like that for collars as they are not particularly common.

Absolutely brilliant! Imagine what you will be able to grow in them. Your gain and somebody else's loss.

I like the way you 'found' them at work.

I have a knack of 'finding' scaffold boards at my work!!!!!

Ideal to grow spuds on a patio, bung on another collar each time they need earthing up, & harvest downwards one collar at a time
