To be fair we are pretty pathetic here.
About 5 or 6 years back it was all over the news that Nottingham was cut off and inaccessable

The reason, one and a half inches of snow had fallen.
A whole city made inaccessable by one and a half inches of fluffy white stuff.

Recently I did like the news that snow had fallen on Aviemore and they were looking forward to the snow for the ski season. Then in the follow sentence it was announced that they owing to the snow they had closed all the roads that went to Aviemore. So no-one could get there to do any sking.

I used to live in Buxton Derby's which can more than its fair share of snow, but things just carryon as normal.

A few years back we were due to attend my MIL funeral between Christmas and New Year. Before we set of I phoned the BIL and asked the question "yes" he said "We've had a skittering, now't to talk about." When we arrived they had had close to 6" of snow over night, some darn 'skittering'.
We had the church service in Buxton and then had to travel over the Cat & Fiddle to the crematorium at Macclesfield, never once did we skid or slide.

There the drivers drive as condition allow, round Nottingham I take my vehicles of the road so as to avoid the Kamikaze drivers it's cheaper in the long run.
