  • Fruit bushes. Can you identify these?

    Hi all.
My plot has a row of what I'm assuming to be fruit bushes, but I have no idea what they are/what to do with them!
Anyone recognise them? Not sure if they need pruning or what I should be doing with them.
    Any advice greatly welcome!

    Thanks

Rub the branches and sniff your hands! Do they smell of blackcurrants?
Otherwise, I haven't a clue and you'll need to wait until the leaves appear.

yups we can't sniff online . If it is blackcurrant, looks as though big bud might be present?

No idea!...but maybe as far as pruning goes..."if in doubt, do nowt " comes to mind!

...well, until you know exactly what they are!

As an after thought...maybe the guys on the plots next to you will know- there must be very few lot holders who have not had a good old nosey at their neighbours plots

Thanks all, I'll give them a sniff when I'm next there!

Otherwise it'll be a case of wait and see I suppose!

Good idea Nicos, I'll definitely ask if I ever see anyone haha

Yep, look like rather large buds for a blackcurrant at this time of year, but the wood looks like a blackcurrant.
