  • Broken plastic garden cloche - repair help?

    Hi folks,

My father in law bought me a Kitchen Garden Cloche two years ago. It looks like this: Kitchen Garden Cloche
    but the plastic has broken.

Anyone got any ideas on where I can get replacement plastic? I've emailed Haxnicks but not got an answer yet.
Any ideas what the plastic is likely to be called? I don't know what to Google!!!

    Many thanks,

    Paul

they sell them at my local garden centre in Haddenham, might be worth surfing websites/giving your local centres a call to check stock before visiting? They'll probably be able to sources them if they stock the rootrainers which are fairly common.

Not sure I'd trust having delivered due to risk of damage.

      Thanks.

It comes as a kit so no problem of damaging it in transit... i don't really want to buy a new one though. I just want to replace the plastic.

Finally got a reply from Haxnicks website. Apparently they have been bought out by someone else and they don't supply the plastic on it's own.

Has anyone got any idea what sort of plastic it is likely to be so i know what to Google? If i can buy a sheet and cut it to size that would be great!

Look for a plastics place, give a ring and ask about the flexable clear stuff,if not,can they help you by suggesting somewhere, just out of interest, try builders merchants,
had a google, type in clear flexible plastic, there are places that sell what you need, the one stop plastic shop, will give you a better idea,

If you just want clear plastic sheet. Why not just search for clear plastic sheet?

Thanks both. I like to know what I'm after before I buy something. I don't know if it's acrylic, polycarbonate, Perspex, polypropylene, etc, etc, etc

There are many clear types of plastic sheets. Some degrade in the outdoors, some will block different wavelengths of light, etc, etc, etc

Looks like I'll have to pick up the phone.
