  • Food revenge..

The other night I decided to have some ice cream with some boozy fruits on. Got the dishes out and pulled the tub of ice cream out of the freezer. It felt heavy. Very heavy. I opened it and inside was a solid block of ice.

This was really bizarre! How could they send a block of ice out instead of ice cream? And how would I not have noticed the weight difference? After a moment I remembered I had actually had some ice cream out of the tub since Christmas day as I'd poured some chocolate baileys over it. (Hmm, do you think I involve alcohol and ice cream too often?)

    This got me thinking...

Who else would eat all my ice cream and replace it with water?

Who had we just taken back to uni this week?

Yes my lovely 19 year old son. He did confess to it when I emailed him about it, but only after sending back a first email saying "LOL".

So now I need food revenge.

So far I have thought of making some horrible ice cream and having that in a normal looking ice cream tub in the freezer, but that'd be a waste of ingredients..

Or cutting cardboard triangles out and re-sealing doritoes bags when stuffed full of them.

I have ten weeks to plan!

I think he'd like the chilli sauce... Which is why I'm not going to make chilli ice cream either

I once tried some really and I mean really distgusting chocolates - milk and dark with a centre of mature stilton cheese.

So did he explain why he went to the trouble of replacing the ice cream with water?!!

I'd go with a different tack, I'm assuming when he returns he'll bring with him enough washing for an army, maybe send him back only with odd socks keeping one of each in the house.

He said he thought it'd be funny. Which it sort of was.

Odd socks won't work - I buy him heaps of socks at the same time that all match... He doesn't always bring washing home either and he knows how the washer works.

Well I'm sure it would have been hilarious to his uni mates!!!

Does he have anything which he'd determine really precious, perhaps sent him a picture of said item incased in ice and sat in said tub.

In my eyes that's a major improvement on the original.!!

It was the care he'd gone to that impressed up. He'd washed out every trace of ice cream... no half measures, this was a carefully thought out idea.

I suspect it's my sense of humour he's got cos I did find it funny after a few moments of wondering what on earth had gone on.

Have you got any of him eating Ice Cream? I see a plan emerging!!!

Set a reserve price as the cost of a new tub of ice cream....
