Hi there,
I had super-sized slugs with orange go-faster stripes when I took over my plot, some twice the size of my thumb:

A few of my allotment neighbours further down the hill use the cheaper non-organic blue sweeties with success and warned me that the organic ones wouldn't touch the blighters.
I have been using them sparingly for about 8 months now, and I have to say they appear to be pretty good of late. Not knowing the intimate details of slugs carnal activity of course this could be normal for this time of year...
According to the guff online and the packaging, I am reassured that they degrade down to a fertiliser and any birds/amphibians/hedgehogs that might eat the resulting dead/dying slugs will be unharmed. These are the only manufactured chemical that I use on the plot (I do use fish oils for pests and seaweed feed too).
I guess I would like to hear from anyone who *knows* whether they are as wildlife friendly as they claim?
