    Gardening TV programmes starting in January 2015.

    The best gardening TV programmes in 2015 - Telegraph

    Several new programmes to look out for. I like the sound of "Show me your gardens" starting Jan 2nd on Sky1. Not sure that I can get Sky1 however.

    Although unfortunately there is also another series of that allotment challenge twaddle......

      Can't remember what it's called but there is one next Tuesday (6th). ITV at 8 I think.

        Thanks, but no thanks. The only only garden show i watch is Beechgrove. Any other Info i need i can get off the vine.

            Thank you VC for the reminder (must rec. some). Least I can get a garden fix when I can't get on outside. If I only learn one tip it is still better than none. Thank you again

            A run down of the gardening prog. in Jan :-

            January 2 at 9pm on BBC Two, The Big Allotment Challenge starts a second series
            January 2 at 8pm on Sky 1, Show Me Your Garden, a six-part series
            January 5 at 7pm on BBC Two, the Great British Garden Revival is back, with a second 10-part series
            January 6 at 8pm on ITV1, Britain’s Best Gardens a new three-part series with Alan Titchmarsh.

              I can remember when gardening programs (most docu-whatsits in fact) were 30 minutes. Now they are an hour, with at least 30 minutes of filler I wish Sky would add a 1.5x playback, like YouTube, to save me time when watching them ...

                In case of interested some others I found:

                Mon January 2 9pm on BBC4, British Gardens in Time - Repeat, 4 parts including Great Dixter & Stowe etc.
                Wed January 4 2:20pm on ITV, The Queen's Garden - Repeat (original over XMas), "Alan Titchmarsh - two programmes on the royal gardens at Buckingham Palace"
                Wed January 4 4pm on BB2, Big Dreams Small Spaces - Repeat, "Monty Don helps people create the garden of their dreams."

                  I have decided to give Allotment Challenge one more chance. I'll watch the first programme to see if there have been any vast improvements from Series 1. I am not holding out great hope, otherwise it is Beechgrove all the way.

                    From the blurb I read it sounds exactly the same, nothing about growing on a lottie but all about show and pointless flower designs

                      It sounds like Allotment Challenge has had some significant re-vamps, so will definitely watch that. Also the Great British Garden Revival series, I enjoyed many of the ones in the last series.

                      As for the rest, well Alan Tit chmarsh gets on mine so I won't bother with that. I will drop in on the Sky series just to see what they are up to over there but without high expectations.

                      Roll on the spring and the return of Beechgrove!

                        Interesting, the stuff I'd read made it look just the same, definitely still three "challenges" with the same judges each week. What changes had you heard about? Anything would be an improvement!

                          I'd read that they will compete as individuals, not pairs and, because of criticism that there wasn't enough gardening advice, there would be more!
