  • Chocolate coin maker

I have a lactose (and preferably gluten) free gold coin requirement for Christmas - stocking essential in our house.

I have spent a stupid amount of what should be garden time looking for ready made ones on line and drawn a blank. As this is a long term requirement I was wondering if it was worth investing in one of these.

John Adams Golden Coin Maker: John Adams: Amazon.co.uk: Toys & Games

They are obviously toys but has anyone any experience? Like replacing the gold covers for eg.

OR does anyone know where I really can get them from? So many false leads this morning!

I thought I'd seen some in Holland and Barrett but can't see them on their website, might be worth a look though if you have one locally.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

The customer reviews are pretty dire

My nephew (anaphylactic reaction to ANY dairy, egg, nut, shellfish and so on) was able to have several brands of the posh, disc shaped, dark after dinner chocs. Some were minty, others were orange flavoured and some had the little mint or orange crunchy bits in

If, having checked the ingredients, you find a brand that is suitable....all you need do is find some gold foil.

Also, we would buy them in bulk in the january sales to put by for easter; we got an easter egg mold from lakelands

Looks like they do them in Sainsburys Free From range - Sainsbury's - Please enable cookies or JavaScript. Don't know if they taste nice but worth a try and I would suspect other supermarkets will have them if you can bear to shop in the hideous stores
