  • Hi from county Down

Hi, I'm a new member from county Down (Northern Ireland).

Not new to gardening, I've been growing basic stuff for years, but I've put up a new polytunnel and im hoping to expand a bit into crops not normally possible here. Its a good size, (18' x 36') and I'm really hoping that my kids take an interest in it. Happy to post pictures when there is something exciting happening.

                      Hi,

                      Thanks for the warm welcome,

As promised / threatened ... a couple of pics of my new tunnel.

Using a tractor and trailer was much handier for erecting it as it reduces messing around on ladders.

                          Hello Bacchus
Your tunnel looks brilliant - just think of all the good stuff (including grapes maybe?) you will be able to grow.

Thanks - while I do enjoy the odd glass or two I leave the wine making to my wife. I do however make mead (honey wine) but don't keep bees so have to buy in the honey.

                              It's great fun.

I might try a vine in there - though my mother (half mile away) had one in her greenhouse and it didn't do so well but perhaps it was the variety. I'll have to investigate that one.
