  • What's in your Green House?

My tomato plants are still cropping in my green house. I've picked several more today. What's in your green house at the moment?

Only a sweet potato plant & some ginger plants, but I'm hoping for greater things next year

In my poly tunnel I have celery, perpetual spinach, Tuscan kale, spring cabbage and lettuce not to mention over wintering flowery stuff.

I've got some winter greens, lettuce and radish. In modules for the allotment I've got some winter onions and broad beans in modules.

Also a pot of spring bulbs and quite a few houseplants that I need to find homes for before they get killed by frost!

plus I still have 3 tom plants grown from armpits on the kitchen window sill, picked a couple of toms of them yesterday.

Kite 1 - One side has 15 flower buckets wrapped in shredded paper (Tattie experiment). The other side has Mange-tout climbing up cord strings (yet another experiment).........

Kite 2 - One side has Sweet Potatoes & Toms, the other side is half bare plus Toms. Runner beans are still up developing seed for next year.

Oops, I forgot - 5 different varieties of Toms cut to ground level to overwinter in Kite 1. 1 row of Leek tape, 1 row of Beetroot tape & 2 rows of Carrot tape in Kite 1...........all experimental you understand.

I have a mushroom tray of oriental mixed greens, and 1 of Seeds of Italy's mixed winter lettuce and radicchio, both waiting to be planted out in the border

Already in are rocket, salad onions, corn salad, a couple of perennial spinach plants and some land cress.

A cut down tomato plant and a pepper, both under a fleeced frame as an experiment

In the small greenhouse are the potted fuchsias I've just brought in, after a couple of frosty nights!

Big tunnel I've got the last of my chilli's, sweet peppers, lemon grass & strawberries. I got the raised bed in there covered with ground sheet already ( only did it Wednesday ). Little tunnel just got my runner beans drying for seed.

My first winter with a greenhouse - I have a couple of chilli plants in there, and seedlings of all year round lettuce, mizuna, rocket, American land cress, oriental mustard and lambs lettuce. It's good to still be growing stuff in November
