^^^^^^ That man has good taste. Undoubtedly the best tasting early.

Does look a bit suseptible to disease though? Though as an early, likely to avoid blight. I might grow these then if others have had sucess with them

I grow a few Rocket (in containers) just to get the earliest of the first earlies. It doesn't have the best taste, but it certainly tastes good after a winter eating stored spuds!

They are followed by a few bags of Arran Pilot, then Arran Pilot outdoors, then Charlotte (2nd early) and then Salad and Main Crop.

I've always grown Ulster Classic as a first early, half outside but the other half in the tunnel for a mid May crop. They're really tasty but getting a lot harder to get hold of, Tattieman didn't do them last year but I won't be using him this year anyway as they've stopped doing small bags and I like to do a few experimental ones as well as my bulk known main crops. Real shame.

Save loads of seeds but for potatoes I prefer to have certified disease free when growing in open ground.

I'm peeved about this too Alison. Maybe JBA will see a significant drop in return customers...

Worth dropping them a line? Although I am presuming that they haven't had enough small-bag-orders in recent years to justify doing it? ... actually could be all sorts of reasons, like they have been let down by the suppliers and will source from somewhere different next year ...

Worth letting them know I reckon

I asked and received this reply

                              Hi,
It's to do with the packing machine we can only do it in 2kg just now.

                              Kind Regards
                              Paola
