Does anyone know what this plant is?

It seems to flower as it goes dark and in the dark , closes during the day / in bright sun

We didnt plant it, and have seen it in no other areas around us, but have a few of them appeared in the garden this year, flower is about 1.5 inches across

Looks more like nigella sativa, the one with edible seeds, than nigella damascena (love-in-a-mist)

Nice one, Mothhawk, I'm not familiar with this plant but from the photos I reckon you are spot on.
