  • New Conference Pear Turned black

Hi, last weekend I planted 6 fruit trees, 4 Apple and 2 pear, along a fence. The pear trees are shortest at about 5ft. This week the conference pear all the leaves have yellowed and the end of each branch has turned black.

I'm concerned this could be a disease that could impact the other trees. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the vine.
Do you have a photo, so we can give an opinion please?
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
    Pumpkin pi.

I assume these must be pot-grown trees at this time of year? If so then it might be no more than a case of transplant shock, but as skeggijon suggests a photo would be useful.

I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago.
Plant leaves turned black very quickly, then fell off.
Plant shock from long dry spell was the cause.
Buds are still alive and well on the plant.
