Why do people snore and not wake themselves up?

Separate bedrooms is the way to go. Works a treat for us (apparently I snore as well). Now I just get up at silly o'clock to go to the loo. Old age grrrrrr

My goodness me we seemed to of had the same sort of night. My OH was sleeping diagonally with his knees bent on my side of the bed. Little boy woke up 3 times cause of the wind and rain so I kept having to get up and settle him down. Then I had to roll OH over a bit just so I could get back into bed. If the elbows don't work I find a kick on the shin does
Thing was I got back into bed and then the alarm went off at 5.45 to get up and take OH to work
          Typical Monday I think.

As much as I hate to admit it I too snore and yes I can wake myself up!! If I happen to fall asleep on the couch (quite often) even the dogs come and have a look to see what's making all the noise! The snoring doesn't happened too often though thank goodness!

Morning all. We had a stormy night last night, the rain was so loud that it almost drowned out Mrs H's gentle snoring.

My own snoring is apparently loud and unmusical, but I only do it if I'm sleeping on my back. Mrs H says she gives me a gentle push and I roll over and it stops.

I just hit him and tell him to turn away from me. That seems to work.

Fleurisa - I wear ear plugs as well - the vibration through the pillows is awful! We have guests taking up the 2 bedrooms down stairs so I could not nip into one off the spare beds

My dog snores - does that count?
I've no idea whether I snore 'cos I'm asleep at the time
However I have woken myself up laughing

Few years ago we were on holiday in Vietnam, we were staying out in a village 'home stay' , so each couple separated just by a curtain, having eventually got to sleep at about 4am, I had a nightmare and woke everyone up screaming!

                        Oops !
