    Painting behind the shed

    My 8x6 ft long shed in one corner of the garden has a 10 in gap down one side to
    the fence, and the same at the back. Has anyone got any ideas how I can paint
    preservative on the fence in the corner where I cant reach? The fence is vertical
    overlapping planks so up and down painting strokes would be best.
    The roof is weak, so I wouldn't like to stand on it, or move the shed.

    Have you considered using a preservative spray?
    What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?

      If you don't use a spray (I would) the only other thing I can think of is to get a broom handle, tie the brush on it at a 90degree angle using lots of twine and use that to get to the very back. It will be a pain, but it's possible.

          Thanks for all your replies. Looking at the Cuprinol sprayer
          at B and Q, I dont think I could get it near enough to the
          corner of the garden for either the 6ft or the 8ft side of the
          shed. The longest broom handle I can find is 4ft long so
          a paint brush tied on the end wont reach.
          C88, whatever you're smoking, can I have some?

              How high is the fence?
              Can you access it from the back - ? your neighbour's garden?
              Lean over the top and paint downwards?

                Paint roller on extendable handle available from all good DIY stores. Piece of 1/2" chip board 3ft square to spread you weight and do it from the shed roof.

                  what i have got is an extending brush for reaching inhospitable places,also the brush head can be angled how you want,if the paint was tipped into a wider shallower container,and slid up the gap,it would save pulling out the long handle in order to reload with more paint,if the shed is not that good,would it be easier ti clear the site,paint and replace with another shed,you may be able to repair/strengthen the old one,a fresh lick of paint and new felt,it will look like new,

                    great combined solution between you. The fence is over 7ft high,
                    hopefully I can get to the remote bits.

                      Once you've painted it, think about extending the shed roof to the fence. This is what I've done.
                      Gives you a dry space to store canes and pots (not PTD, he wouldn't fit) and you don't have to worry about painting it again.
