  • When should I move chilli plant indoors?

My chilli plant, basket of fire, is in a tub. It is covered in tons of chillies and I finally have a chilli turning orange, yay!!
I was wondering when I should move it indoors as I would like to try to overwinter it.

Last year I moved mine in the first week of October when night time temps started dipping, if you've got a south facing window bring them in ASAP they won't lose out

Before there is any risk of frost, the current low night time temps may well make them sulk so dont delay. Keep on the dry side and dont be scared to prune them if you have to.

When your night time temps get down to about 10c. 10c is just about the magic number for tender things, it's the temp below which they really don't like it.
It's not an exactly accurate rule, just an easy-to-remember one

Mine are still out in the greenhouse, we've had a few 5/6C nights but the days are still warm enough to keep the plants happy.

I'm keeping a close eye on the forecasts though, any sign of cold and they'll be inside quick as a flash
