What if Scotland Votes Yes?

Similar thought occurred to me - Certified disease free spuds too. I have bought all my seed potatoes from JBA for years and they are in Dumfries and Galloway. Mind you, they are only a few miles inside the border from Gretna Green so maybe they will be able to easily bootleg them across the fields and over the wall?!!

My sister, my niece and my nephew, will be 'foreigners'.

Then we will no longer have Scottish mps voting on English matters..........

I'd be sad to see them go, but if they stay the latest promises made to Scotland, will cause chaos in the rest of the Union.

If Scotland votes YES tomorrow it will affect everyone in the UK..Thats why i think its better together

I will be voting no. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when down at Dorchester a couple of weekends back for the NVS national Championships at the interest in the referendum and also at how many English folks said they hoped it would be a "no" vote.

If it is a yes vote goodness knows how we will manage for motor insurance. There are no longer any insurance companies in Scotland. English companies won't deal on foreign countries and you can just imagine the probolems with foreign exchange especially since we haven't got a fr*****g clue what we will be using for money.

Indeed, but even if Scotland votes NO tomorrow it will affect everyone in the UK ...

The worst possible outcome, to my way of thinking, is a close-vote. 49.9% of the people will be really annoyed - probably to the point of rioting in the streets ...

and a 49.9% NO vote will mean that the Scottish Parliament calls for another referendum soon - what the folk of Quebec, who are in a similar situation, call a "never-endum"

Well i think it will be close but not that close Kristen...I honestly think when the the voting begins tomorrow it will be a lot higher than the polls suggest...The NO votes will be in the 60's..

If they Vote No then the same thing will arise again in a few years.
It will cause the EU problems as if they seperate and then get into the EU there are areas like the Basque area that will look to similar. I think Belgium has one area thinking of it. So that leaves the question will Scotland get back into the EU. Iceland applied and they are not accepted, the EU has some strong rules that also have to be met.

What is the situation concerning Scots already working abroad, the EU has rules and limits and could they find themselves unemployed. They will find themselves non-EU nationals. Will Scots football players be out of English and other EU football teams?

Bet they stop paying the BBC as well, I cannot see how anything could be done to anyone in Scotland not paying what is an English companys fee. So are the transmitters switched off.

To me if they do not vote Yes then they do not have financial control, so if Scotland wants to spend £N billions on something does Westminster say No, or does Westminster give them the money at what could be Englands loss.

All Salmon has to do is ask for more and eventually something will be refused then it is likely to be We should be Independant all over again.

If Scotland votes Yes then I suspect that the extent of what gets funded from Westminster will start to become apparent. I forget what it was that I heard it on but I recall it said that London produces more then Scotland, Wales, Manchester and Birmingham combined. That in one way indicates that Scotland although a large area has a small population. How it will support itself is the question. Those roads in the highlands need maintaining as do the rail lines. Isn't there a new Forth Road bridge? That is not cheap to build. Losing 90 to 95% of your "population" and the taxes etc from them doesn't make any of these easy.

I'm certain that the vote will be close, if only because nobody really knows what "Yes" would mean, exactly.

If I were Scottish I'd lean towards voting "No", for the simple reason that "Yes" would mean lots more jobs for politicians and lots more work for lawyers and lobbyists while the details are worked out. I think there are enough people busy with unproductive work in these islands without adding a load more.

Anyone born in Scotland up until independence, should it happen and I don't think it will, (It will be a close run thing though IMHO) - will always be British, you can't change that! I was born British and always will be no matter what. I'm sure it was said that there will be no change to anyone's status who is alive at the moment.

As for the BBC, many countries in Europe and elsewhere including Ireland, freely watch BBC with no licence. Don't hear anyone complaining about that!

As for the spending I have no idea and I doubt no one has. Anything promised by Cameron, Clegg and Milliband can and probably will be overturned by MP's in Parliament.

No matter what happens there are huge changes on the cards for the UK as of Friday.

Think of all the high street stores with outlets in Scotland that will have to change how they operate, legally speaking, as their stores will be in a foreign country. Bet they put up prices.

Hi. Think there are still to many questions still not being answered like currency, armed forces, health service, EU membership etc.
Think politicians are dodging the questions that people want answering.
If it is a No vote give it a few years then the politicians will push for a referendum again. A bit like Australia being a Republic and Quebec becoming separate from Canada.
Could go either way.

My prediction is 52 - 48 to stay. But I doubt that will be the last of it.

Once the nationalist genie is out of the bottle it's mighty difficult to get it back in....

Lets hope things stay peaceful.

If its a No it is for sure the fishy man won't let it rest as it will not fulfil his ego's desires.

Salmon wants to go down in history as the man that led Scotland to independence. He does not care whether its is a good thing for the people or not as it will not affect his lifestyle.

I really hope it is a resounding NO vote.
