    ..stop your tomatoes setting more trusses?

    I guess it's getting close to that point where there'll be no more tomatoes.

    I just leave them to set as many as they want - in a mild Autumn it can mean having a few tomatoes until the end of October. You can always bring light green ones in to ripen if the weather turns cold.

      I stop my cordon toms after five or six trusses but just let the bush varieties do their own thing. The reason for stopping the cordons is that they have invariably reached the top of the greenhouse by then!

        I have wires up high, along the greenhouse, so they can be tied along the wires

          Tomatoes generally take 4-6 weeks to go from pollination to being full size and ripe.

          So my rule of thumb is to remove growing tips 1 month before I think frost will arrive or blight will strike.
