    Hanging/draping trellis for climbing plants for my shed?

    Afternoon all,

    I wish to try and cover my shed a bit in addition to having some space to grow some climbers and I was wondering if it is possible to buy or make some sort of hanging/draping trellis in which I can simply hang over from the roof to near the ground?

      I guess it depends what you are planning on growing and whether it is flowers or something that you plan to harvest. I used netting this year and really wish I hadn't. I'm growing achocha on it and several of the tendrils have gone behind so it's impossible to harvest those fruits.

      The netting is fixed on 3 expanding bamboo trellis thingies from £land, fixed horizontally to the shed, and next year I will use those on their own.

        Netting is dangerous to birds too...they can get tangled up in it.

        I once used camouflage army net over our bunny runs so they didn't stand out so much and to protect from the direct sun and came home from work to find our cat tangled up in it with it wrapped round her neck

          You could use sheep netting. Big square mesh that things won't get caught up in but you will need to fix it somehow. Don't confuse it with pea/bean netting it is much more rigid than that.

            Basically I want some sort of structure/material in which I can grow some perennial climbers up to camouflage my shed a bit in.

            I don't have much money to spare so I am looking at a cost affective way to do this.

            If the netting is rigid and not flimsy like pea netting I could use that, maybe weigh it down with some bricks at the bottom. Sheep netting from your description seems to fit the bill, will goggle now.

              Use string - attached top and bottom and wind it round the climbers as they grow - as you would tomatoes in the GH.

                I'd just buy enough of those £land expanding wooden trellises to cover the side of the shed. Permanent and not unattractive.
