  • Reliable weather forecast?

I use the BBC web forecast, and yesterday it said there
would be three periods of heavy rain for my town - not
a drop. Can anyone recommend a weather forecast that
    they've found reasonably reliable please?

I like Metcheck. It's not completely reliable - no site can be - but at least you can get confidence levels on its predictions.

I like Metcheck too and they talk my language when they explain weather situations - with a bit of fun thrown in. Had the weather spot on yesterday and last night.

Metcheck is always on the low side for night-time temperatures, here.

It means things that need frost protection get covered - better safe than sorry

I use wunderground, again not completely foolproof but I like the real time radar maps so you can watch the weather approaching!

I look at both Metcheck and Met office but really none of them are that accurate.

Metcheck, XCWeather, Rain Today - but generally tomorrow's weather will be largely the same as today's.....

LOok out the window. That's what the weather is doing now.

You need a Forecasting Rock in a convenient spot outside your window. Then:

                    If it's dry it's fine
                    If it's wet it's raining
If you can't see it it's foggy.

I have given up trying to find a reliable forecast.
I think we must have a strange microclimate .

This summer was a laugh though....we joked about the last minute next day forecast as being an exact copy of what we'd just had, and that the office junior was typing it in whilst all the professionals were in their 3 week holidays.
It was just a joking comment, but you know what....it REALLY looked like that was the case...certainly for over 2 weeks!

I generally use the Met Office, but they don't seem to be that accurate recently. I also use http://www.raintoday.co.uk as I can work it out for myself!

I stand outside first thing in the morning. If I don't get wet, then I do some gardening. Simple!

This one is the one I use most:
TheWeatherOutlook - latest UK weather forecasts, reports and news

Another forum asked us not to use Metcheck, or at least not to post links to it.

Still think the window is the most accurate however.
