The lettuce looks like Botrytis not sure about the tomato could be damage from insects and then the Botrytis sets on or the dreaded blight. Check the leaves and stems for any other signs of disease. If they are in a greenhouse remove the diseased matter and keep the atmosphere dry and increase ventilation. I've been in the garden, and my little gem lettuce when taking the leaves off is producing white milky liquid from it. Is this normal? I don't remember it doing when I grew them before. But apart from that they look ok.
Then spotted this on my cabbage......
please tell me it's not blight!!!!!!
these keep flying in the greenhouse. They won't do any damage will they?

Lettuce do have milky sap. Cabbages don't get blight, it is a disease of the tomato and potato family. Although there are other types which affect for example box. I don't think it is anything to worry about.

As Wendy says, nothing to worry about on your lettuce.
I have found that if I just cut off the whole lettuce and not pull out the roots, it regrows perfectly. I'm aiming to only plant out six lettuces next year, that should be enough with the magic re growingNannys make memoriesComment
