  • Leftover ericaceous compost

I recently bought some ericaceous compost to pot up some new fruit bushes. There's a bit left and am wondering what else I can grow in it. I've already got 6 blueberry bushes so please don't anyone suggest another blueberry, I had to give myself a talking to and am not allowed another blueberry.

I also have a redcurrant and don't really want another one just for the sake of it. Are there any other fruits that are suitable or will it have to be flowers? Thanks in advance

I would use it with my general compost.

Keet it to top up the pots you already have.
I assume that the blueberry's you have are in pots.

Yeah they are in pots Kirk, I have already topped them up with it but I guess I could keep it for a top up next year.

Bill - so can I just mix it with mpc and grow whatever I want in it? Would raspberries be ok if the mix was like 50-50?

Just in case any one else wants to know what to grow in ericaceous compost, I found this on tinternet.

Some of the very finest fruits come from the acid-loving berries, a family with members such as the blueberry, cranberry, lingonberry and heathland bilberry.

Gonna get meself a cranberry me thinks. Anyone else got cranberries?
