  • What's eating my Peppers

This year I've grown two pepper plants and every single pepper has has a hole inside. What pesky creature is causing this and how do I stop them?

Whatever it is they have left my chillis alone

I had the occasional snail on mine - holes were a bit bigger though.

I can see that there are leaves that have also been eaten from the edge inwards... I'd associate that with a caterpillar type bug.

Have you checked under all the leaves?

If it is caterpillars you probably won't see then 'cos they are living very happily INSIDE the peppers !!!!

One of the plants has the same problem but I only have a hole in one the peppers.
I think I should be ok to eat. Although I did read online that something could have lied eggs inside the pepper.....!!!

Or if its a caterpillar it will have pooped every where. For the sake of one pepper throw it on the compost heap.

I caught a little bright green caterpillar red handed this morning, curled over the edge of a half bitten leave, looked at the others, still holes but nothing to see, them's very sneaky, also caught a big fat orangy brown slug in the poly, aprox 2.5 feet up the melon plant, clinging to a melon, thought i was seeing things, fortunately no marks on the fruit,
