  • Rose wine.

My rosa rugosa have nice red . . . I'm not sure what to call them, bulbs or something, growing on them, I planted them originally because I know I can make wine from it, has anybody got any advice on how I would go about doing that? I can't promise to send a free bottle but I will tell you if it was nice

There's also a hawthorn hedge at the bottom of the garden and I hear I can make some for of alcohol from haws, I need to look into that, has anyone advice for that or other uses for haws?

I presume you mean rose hips.

Yes, you can make wine but I've never done it... lots on the net about it... such as

Winemaking Recipe for Rose Hip Wine, How To Make Rose Hip Wine: Wine Making Guides

I've made rose hip syrup which was fed to me daily as a child as it is full of vitamins!

The proof of the growing is in the eating.
    Leave Rotten Fruit.
    Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potasium - potash.
    Autant de têtes, autant d'avis!!!!!

I've tried making something with rose hips but they're full of tiny hairs and need filtering extremely well. I think it was rose hip jelly.
Also I made haw berry chutney once - only once. Can't remember why it was a once only experience
