  • Cauliflower turning purple?

I've done a quick search which says that it can be due to too much exposure to the sun but can it still be eaten?!

    Thanks!

I have found that mine that went a bit green due to exposure were a bit bitter - but nothing ventured nothing gained I reckon.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I grow ones that should be purple although they do fade rather on cooking, are you sure that it's not meant to be like that? I wouldn't worry too much either way, they can discolour and worst case scenario is that it might be bitter, it won't do you any harm.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

you need to tie the outer leaves over the head to blanch the curd or this will happen every time you grow cauliflower. the other option is grow self blanching variety. ttfn
