  • Bee Stings

    Hi,

I recently opened up one of my hives to do some extensive work and enlisted the help of a friend. The bees were particularly unhappy and stung my poor friend around and through his gloves. I was stung once on the breast.!! However, my question is around the fact that when he went to open up his hive 3 days later his bees reacted in a similar fashion yet are normally very placid and attempted to sting him again around his gloves. I followed up my hive work a week later and guess what..... I was stung in exactly the same place.

Now, i am presuming that in both cases this must be down to attack pheromones remaining on our bee suits but is this the case.?

Yes. Bee venom dries and remains on the gloves..

    (A reason why I don't use them)
