  • Hello from Newcastle Under Lyme

    Hello all
What a great forum! I'm Natalie 27 married no children just yet.
I've always wanted a greenhouse we were lucky enough to buy a house with a large one already there! Last year we only grew Tom's and Strawberry's. This year we've double the number of Tom's and still got last year's strawberries. We've also added Chillies, Peppers & Melons. Unfortunately the greenhouse isn't in the right position, it's under a massive oak tree. Once everything has finished growing we are planning on moving it later in the year.
We have quite a large garden, probably a bit too big for us. I've tried to take pictured but you cant get it all in. There's some garden to the side and some more behind the ivy hedge at the bottom.
So that's me and my garden!

Nice looking garden Natalie. It's gonna be a real bu99er moving that Oak tree though............

              Hi Natalie, welcome!

You have my sympathy as I built my greenhouse under a large oak tree when we moved here 20 years ago. Unfortunately I didn't know it had recently had a lot of lower branches removed. It is now twice as big as before and shades my greenhouse all day until after 3pm... and then other trees shade it from 6pm.

Crops in it are getting worse and worse so I'm starting to work on OH about a garden redesign including a move of the greenhouse.

BTW That lawn of yours is crying out for changing to a lovely veg plot!!!!!

My husband would kill me if we came home & i'd dug up his grass!
I'm moving the greenhouse to the right of the garden you cant quite see it on the picture. It's a big area. I told the OH thats my patch of garden & he cant touch it!
The greenhouse only get the sun until about 1ish.
