  • Blackbirds at it again!

No, not nicking my tayberries. Rearing another brood! I saw the hen bird keep going in to the hedge where the last nest was. Sure enough she was sat there just glaring at me. She stood her ground as they are getting quite tame. I reckon this is at least the third brood, and more likely the fourth.

It's a great summer for birds. I spotted a family of newly fledged wrens only yesterday, they are having such a good year, there's loads wrens and other small birds, which is brilliant.

      That is good news.

We have about 6 pairs of sparrows nesting under the roof tiles. Finally put up the bird feeder, has 4seed feeders on it, they empty all 4 in about a day and a half. Great fun to watch. Never seen so many baby sparrows.

Rescued a fluffy fledgling blue tit from the spare room yesterday - must have overshot the feeders on the window!
