  • Unknown tomato.

As some will know I received a packet of mixed tomato seeds as a gift with nothing to tell me which seeds are which. This is the first one to reach maturity can someone name it please.

Here's the picci's. Grown as a cordon as the packet said to support and side shoot them.

Just realised I have a further clue the company did print a list of contents on the packet.

So we have Blood Butcher, Christmas Grape, Golden cherry, Tanaki, Yellow Debut, Garden Peach, Red Zebra, Snowberry, Sultana, Tangella and Tigerilla.

Some of those we can rule out fairly easily it's not a cherry for a start also Yellow Debut and possibly Snowberry.

Narrowed down to Red Zebra or Tigerilla, I would have thought, Potty.

And I'm sure that 'poor plumber' is an oxymoron.

I had the same free seeds, Potty. I sowed 2 seeds last year and two this year. Last year I got 2 stripey ones, this year I got one stripey and one that was unmistakeably Garden Peach. I assume the stripeys were Tigerilla or red Zebra, though I can't find Tigerilla with a goggle search, only Tigerella, so I'm wondering if the "i" may be a typo. It's rather fun growing unknowns and then sherlocking what they may be. The Garden Peach are a lovely flavour, but only a couple of trusses, with only 3 or 4 flowers each.

                      Endless wonder.

I've just seen that they are sold as Tigrella and Tigerella by different suppliers - presumably the same variety *confused*
