Hi ,has anyone grown asparagus peas before? I've successfully grown some this year and they are very pretty but I've heard they taste rubbish! Anyone got any experience?

I have heard that too raine. I haven't tried growing them but Piskie said that they were not worth the trouble. I'll see if I can find what she said about them.

If you've got some then you need to see what you think as taste is so subjective, I love some things other people hate and really can't stand stuff they think is wonderful. Also taste varies with soil type and conditions so definitely worth you trying if you already have them

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

        Found it! http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...eas_35097.html

Seems as if, as you say, they look pretty but don't taste that nice. Alison is right though, it's all subjective and you may be posting rave reviews a bit later

My books say they must be eaten young, otherwise they are fibrous. Not that I have any experience.

Ah well, I'll give them a go and then I'll let you all know!
