    Things to sow now!

    Judging by the self sown seeds that are springing up on the allotment and in my back garden - now is the time to direct sow aquilegia and sweet rocket (hesperis matronalis). I am hoping to get some established in my small garden (without the dog noticing and pulling them up) by sprinkling seeds around!

    Any more ideas of direct sowing of biennials / perennials?

          Trouble is, folks, that I have an exceptionally curious spaniel who eats everything she can find- and so many perennials are poisonous - happily she doesn't like the taste of some of them but being an anxious owner I need to be sure she is going to be safe from the rest. I need to rule out foxgloves which is a real pity.
          Some great ideas though

            Just to add, I know hesperis matronalis is safe, (sweet rocket) and she is already not keen on acquilegia - so it is just a case of sowing stuff that is going to grow in a semi shaded back garden and also be safe for my dear dog.

              Now's the time to sow all your spring bedding...pansies and violas, myosotis, bellis and wallflowers. All Biennials should be sown now...canterbury bells, honesty, sweet rocket, sweet williams etc etc
