  • Hypericum Androsaemum?

Found this bush while walking through some woodlands.

Quick googling suggests it might be Hypericum Androsaemum but want some clarification.

Has yellow flowers and red/green berries.

Definitely a hypericum, not one of my favourite plants.

Yes, that's a hypericum. I have several in my garden. Good for floristry

You can make a delicious flavoured vodka out of the not yet opened flower buds. Take a very small handful of unopened flower buds, pour over half a bottle of vodka (or schnapps) and leave in a window ledge. The flowers will soon start to ooze an attractive red 'smoke'. Filter after 4 days. Leave for a couple of weeks before drinking in small measures at room temperature, it's great with cold meats. The flavour will develop with time

Hypericon is used as as an antidepressant and this is the Scandinavian way of keeping good 'spirits'

Looks like Hypericum perforatum to me aka St John's Wort.
Seems to self seed in my garden. There are nicer Hypericums. Hypericum perforatum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
