  • Feeding runner beans

    Hi guys

I have some runner beans growing in 50 litre ish pots.

Currently I feed them every week using wilkos 'growmore' NPK 777 liquid fertilizer.

Now then have started to flower and set should I switch to a tomato 5,5,10 fertilizer?

    Thanks

My runners grown in Morrison's buckets or domestic buckets get Miracle Grow high nitrogen feed throughout the season. They are very hungry plants and therefore get fed twice as often as the instruction say.

Mine are in the ground....they just sat there and looked pale and insipid. So I started watering them with half strength Miracle Grow every time I watered...which was every day, and within 10 days, they had greened up and are now in flower.

Im a big believer of "you only get out, what you put in"

Personally, I'd change to the higher potash feed now the fruit has set

Hi my plot is full of comfrey and I use this on quite a bit of the crops including toms. It stinks but it works in the feeding game and the quality of produce is great.

A tip I do is 4 pint milk cartons fill with water stuff comfrey in three weeks later the Brew is ready for the crops however the smell is strong but worth it

          Happy gardening
