  • Goodbye, folks! And thank you.

Hi and 'bye, I will not be contributing/ reading any more on this website.
Am a little worried that I am spending too much time and thought on it....

I have really enjoyed reading some stuff, and learned such a lot. It has enthused me to do better. I appreciated the three Good Fairies (I am sure you know who you are) and some friendly, concerned Mods.
On the neg. side, a little bemused that I mostly got real responses for the jokey side of my posts, although I feel I and a couple of others brought up some real issues. Thanks to those who responded in a considered, reasonable way, could take a joke, without being brusque or rude or showing off! I think the latter may know who they are too, - or maybe not!

The thing we all had in common was our love of gardening, sharing lives and info.
Thank you, and I wish you happy days!

No idea what you are talking about here Raybon as I have only just joined the forum, but seems a shame to give up on it completely. So far I have found it very informative and entirely friendly!

Sorry to hear you're leaving, dear Raybon.

      Wishing you well.

      Take care.

It can eat your life up, being on the Vine, and it's a busy time of the year outside. You've contributed to the community, thank you. Best wishes for your future gardening! You can always come back once the clocks go back and you've just got your winter jobs out the way....

It strikes me that it takes a little while to 'bed in' on the vine - we get a grasp of what and how to phrase things in order to fit in, and for other grapes to get used to someone's style, but once you've settled in you tend to be trapped here for ever, so perhaps you're getting out whilst you can!

          Oh no!

Please don't go, Raybon! I love reading your posts... and have really appreciated your comments on mine, and how active you've been in responding.

I think it's understandable on forums to feel sometimes bemused and miffed, for all sorts of reasons. There seem to often be inexplicable gaps in the fragile web of virtual friendships.

I'm hoping you might reconsider and stay... but if not, all the best. xxx

I for one will miss you a lot, I have enjoyed all your posts even when I disagree with them. Maybe you could just limit yourself to 6 hours a day?

Yes, forums are time-consuming. I've learnt to ration my time according to the pleasure I get out of each forum.

Personally I spend a long time on this one

Have you considered only keeping up with your favourite parts (whatever they are), e.g. only reading and responding to the Fruit posts?

Noosner! Thank you so much for your response! All your fault actually, going away on holiday like that......
I would have written exactly the same of you, you are the person I will miss the most. Told my Old Man that before I saw your post!
I also nominated you for MoM next....c/o Bearded Bloke. For a few reasons!
You possibly won't get it, as I'm sure there are a few more well-known names to the fore, but I hope other folk will follow suit!
All the best to you, and your tomatoes!
