  • Cherry Tree Suckers

I have numerous suckers sprouting up everywhere from my cherry tree. I was going to dig them up and re-plant them in pots but thought I better ask first for any advice from you experts out there the best way to do this, although it does seem straight forward to do.

I would have thought that if the tree is grafted then the suckers will be of the root stock and therefore not true to the tree. I expect someone more knowledgeable than me will be along soon.

I have tried this and none were successful.

Most were too close to the tree to risk disturbing the roots, although I did successfully get one up two feet away with a good root system. Planted so see what we get.
