  • Braeburn

Hi I have recently purchased and planted two Apple trees ( about 8 weeks ago ) one was a Bramley and the other a Braeburn both approx 1.5 metre high ! , they are both planted in the same garden away from any walls and boundaries , however the Braeburn does not seem to be budding or showing any sign of life or changes different to as it was when purchased !!! . Any advice welcome 😳😀 Not sure how to upload pic but will do when I work out how to

    Hello and welcome.
I would have expected them both to have behaved in the same way and shown some sign of life. Where did you buy them ?

Hello kidapology & welcome to the vine. Have you scraped a bit of the bark away to see if there is any sign of life?

I 've just moved your thread to the fruit section on the Vine where more people will get to see it.

It may simply have not liked being moved and replanted at this time of year.
I am thinking of moving a couple of mine and realise that if I do I can expect them to react badly at present time.

Are there other apples (even crab apples) around you?
The Bramley is a triploid, vigorous, but the pollen is sterile. So the Braeburn will pollinate the Bramley but the Bramley will not pollinate the Braeburn.

Does the Braeburn have healthy looking leaves?
