  • Borage Leaves - yellow patches?

    Hi guys,

I'm growing my tomatoes with some borage in with it as a companion plant. For the most part, both are thriving, but the other day I noticed these yellow patches on a few of the borage leaves. The patches themselves are quite waxy. I originally thought it was just that the leaves might have been damaged/burnt, but after removing the yellowing leaves some more have started to do the same. Is this an infection/disease? Are there any ideas what steps need to be taken?

    Many thanks!

P.s. I have googled this, but can't seem to find anything concrete.

Could you have dripped some liquid feed onto the leaves?

I have no idea what this is but my sorrel did exactly the same thing when I planted it out. The leaves all started to look just like this then wilted away completely and I thought I'd killed it, but the plant survived and the new leaves coming through are looking a lot better. I put it down to watering/sun scorch...

Long shot as that patch is quite large - could it be leaf miner? What do the other leaves look like?

I don't believe it's liquid feed, as I there's slow release in the soil and if I do give them liquid feed, I don't use the rose and water at the base of the plants, but it's a definite possibility if I've been clumsy at some point!

I'm hoping it is just some scorching. I'll remove the damaged leaves and see if it continues to happen. Fingers crossed.

Think it's leaf miner and then scorched.
            It's normal.
