    What's up with my strawberry plants? (Pics)

    Some of my strawbs have leaves with a different texture now, they seem to be shrivelling inwards. They look slightly rubbery now rather than the flat smooth surface they used to have.

    Some of these leaves are getting brown tips.

    They are all in pots in the tunnel and the tunnel does get quite warm, it's 29.5C in there right now with the door and windows open.

    Might this be a result of too much heat, too little water, condensation burning the leaves when it drops and heats up on them, something else entirely?

    Not sure what to do to help them tbh.

    I've just noticed that the new plants that are forming on the runners seem to be affected too. I'm guessing this is not good.

    I have no idea if this is disease, or condition due to external influences (like heat/water etc) so I don't know if I should keep the runners or bin them?

      I'd bin the plant and runners and not use that pot or bed for strawbs for a few years. The soil picks up diseases over time and passes them to the plant. It's common with Strawberrys as they age. Commercial growers replace their plants and growing medium every season.

        Strawberries are tough old things, I would say they just got a bit too hot and dry. If your harvesting berries I would cut off the runners, there will be loads more after you have taken the berries.

            Didn't realise there were replies to this thread, last time I looked there were none and it had dropped down, so apologies for not acknowledging your responses.

            I've since been told this is a calcium deficiency and after having googled it, there were many pictures of strawberry plants identical to mine so I suspect this may well be the case.
