When our son was young I bought our son a tipper truck and a seaside bucket and spade from a car boot sale and he used to love playing with them on our lottie!
Yeh- we made sure his tetanus etc was up to date

My two have an area under a tree constantly digging
holes then they get covered with grass .
      I'm always falling down them.
      Worse than rabbits .

Our daughter used to dig bear traps in the garden she said they must have worked because it kept the bears away.

Really good idea, thanks. He is fascinated by anything that crawls and wriggles.

Dont think grandma will look with him though!

That is the sort of logic I like.
Have used it a few times as well.

If he is going to plant holes are they ready germinated or can you tell me where to get the seeds.

Grandma won't need the magnifing glass, he will pick them up for her to see, really close to make it easier as well.

When our kids were small we bought a bug box, a clear plastic box the magnification on all 4 sides so they could get a good look at the bugs without their little hands squashing them by mistake.

Found a link so you know what I mean :-
