I like these sort of ideas, I use a builders mortar tub for my strawbs/ parsnips then an old tin bath gets used for a cold frame.Location....East Midlands. -
Cracking idea ... but can you imagine how much of a tangle I'd be in if I started with bath tubs

What amazes me is the carrots growing in horse manure when everyone is telling me don't use manure on carrots or they will be hairy and misshaped. ^^^^^yes I wondered about that too Bill. Might be worth an experiment or two, since I struggle with carrots anyway. Might try a bag of horse muck or cow muck in a tub, add carrot seeds and wait and see.
