    swallows!

    Yesterday we threw the shells etc from our prawns to the chooks ( never done it before cos I was concerned the eggs may taste fishy).

    Immediately a swallow perched nearby and kept swooping down towards the shells.
    It stayed there until the shells were gone.
    Yup- they were clearly attracting flies and the swallow was gobbling them up!

    I've finally found something to attract the swallows so I can watch them closely!

    Really chuffed

    next time I'll have the camera handy!

    Swallows are one of the defining sights of an English summer...

    Can never tire of watching their majestic sweeping flight.
    Pain is still pain, suffering is still suffering, regardless of whoever, or whatever, is the victim.

      There is a shortage of swallows here, the sky used to be full of them. We still see them at the quay swooping over the water but not nearly as many as previous years

      Nicos, that's brilliant....photos maybe??

        I love swallows too. They used to nest in my parents garage when I was a child and we would go and watch the nests with all the young chirping for their food. Definitely need to get us some pictures for the wildlife photo thread Nicos

          I've been watching swallows mobbing a magpie this morning. He got the message very quickly!
