  • no flowers on my blueberry bushes

Hey everyone, ok so iv got a problem with my blueberry bushes, iv got 6 that iv had for the last 3-4 years, last year plenty of fruit but this year i have maybe 8 flowers on one branch of one bush. Nothing on any of the others, any ideas whats happening?
Leaves all look healthy, have been fed and mulched this year also. Just lost without having plenty of fruits to look forward to this year

are they getting enough (rain) water?, I have been adding extra water to my tubs this year with a big jump in flower numbers, but that may be just coincidence but don't let them dry out, I give each half dustbin about 1 gallon plus each day unless its tipping down...

Have you pruned the bushes or too late? You may have pruned off the flowering buds while shaping your plant.

The blueberries grows on the top 6-8 inches of growth, if these had been pruned then the bushes won't flower.

Pruning is recommended in late Winter so the plant has time for new growth.

i mostly use rain water (plenty of it in Fife) i have not pruned them as i wanted to let them do their own thing for a few years, they are about 3-4 years old.

I was wondering, they had a huge crop last year, would that affect them this year?? i was too greedy and didnt remove any flowers what so ever.lol

Im at a real loss. i think across my 6 bushes, 2 of them have a total of 12 berries. very strange.

On a good note my cucamelons and tomatillos are doing very well

The bush will lose productivity on old canes. You say you had the bushes for four years, but is that the age of the plants as well?
